A visit to China Evangelical Seminary with Hethne key contacts in Taiwan. From the left: Michelle, Lyte, Dr AK (middle), Bobby and Roger (far right).
The unique and beautiful Taiwanese culture, great hospitality and, of course, the famous bubble tea shaped a wonderful experience that the Hethne team will never forget. The visit in May 2018 was warmly received and this greatly motivated the team. They were grateful to have met and connected with like-minded people, including Roger Lai from UMoT (United Missions of Taiwan) and Bobby and Michelle Law from SIM (Serving in Missions) Taiwan. During this meeting, it was encouraging to discover that there were 6 missionaries sent by SIM Taiwan to serve and reach out the Hethne community in India and Durban, South Africa.

The team had wonderful opportunities to meet other missionaries and share the vision for the Hethne. This group of intercessors requested to receive Hethne's prayer list to include it during their monthly prayer gatherings that have faithfully taken place since 1988 – conducted without interruption for the past 30 years! It was really amazing how the Lord led the Hethne team to their new prayer partners.
Lyte was grateful for the privilege to join in this trip and have the opportunity to represent Hethne in Dr AK’s three Perspectives classes. Quite a number of students showed interest and signed up to receive Hethne news and prayer updates. Surprisingly, one student came forward to indicate his interest to be a part of the ministry and join the Global Hethne Congress in 2021 (previously 2020). The team was so encouraged by this very positive response.

Hethne Director Dr AK and OM Taiwan National Director Joseph Ting
Meeting the enthusiastic leaders from multiple global mission organisations including Serving in Missions (SIM), United Missions of Taiwan (UMoT) and OM Taiwan made the visit more meaningful and fulfilling. Through these meetings, doors were opened up to promote the Global Hethne Congress 2021 as well as the possibility to raise funds. The idea for another Cycle for Hethne (C4H) to be held in Taiwan was also a hot topic of discussion during and after the meeting with Joseph Ting, the National Director of OM Taiwan.
These and many other initiatives are being prayerfully considered to raise funds for upcoming Global Hethne Congress 2021. Please pray with us as we seek the Lord for His guidance.
The Global Hethne Congress 2021 (previously 2020) is a great opportunity to meet and network with 800 Christian leaders and practitioners from all over the world. For the first time in history, such a strategic gathering is being organised to allow the sharing of experiences to reach out and touch the lives of Hethne all over the world.
